Noche de San Juan, and More Movies!

On June 21, we celebrated La Noche de San Juan! It coincided with a huge full moon, which added to the magic of the night. We threw a little pool party and barbecue at home. Just a couple of friends and some yummy food and beer! At midnight, we plunged backwards 7 times into my tiny 8' wide pool. With a little coordination, we managed with just a few minor injuries :P We also played Apples to Apples!

La Noche de San Juan was long overdue. So are lots of over things I've done in my newest hiatus. Among them was finishing Season 3 of Downton Abbey! It was SPECTACULAR!! A smart and engaging TV series like this one is hard to come by right now. Everything about it just works so well! There's really nothing about it that I would change, except the date for the premier of Season 4! It's in December!! :(

Now time for another Movie Update. It seems the most I do lately is watch movies!!

First up, Despicable Me 2. This one was on my list! It was a lovely animated film! Just as good as the first one. The minions, of course, were the best part! I love the romance they added in, and how it developed. The humor was good for both children and adults. Every year it's more and more apparent who animated film are not just for kids! I, for one, am planning on watching animated films till the day I die!

This is another of those rare cases where I like the sequel better than the first movie. Wow, it feels like all movies this summer are sequels. Anyway, I liked the story and the action in this one a little better. I haven't seen the first one in a long time, so maybe I need a refresher. But it was very good! I saw it with my Mom!

And finally, The Wolverine, which was also on my list. And YES, THIS WAS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE FIRST ONE! I was pleasantly surprised, although they told me it was better, I still had my doubts about it. There were parts which were still too slow for a Marvel film. But the fight scenes were good, and so was the acting. The after credits scene was surprising. Now to wait for the next X-Men.
