On Grandmas and Mofongo

One of the things I'm going to miss most is mofongo. That yellow garlicy goodness! I had some today, after developing a craving for it yesterday while writing about it to one of my pen pals. I'm definitely going to try making it in London. I know they have plantains (the largest plantains I've ever seen!). Just hope my cooking fineness can live up to it.

I drove around with my grandma today. Her car broke down, so she asked me to take her for a ride. I regret that I never had a deep relationship with her. She was never a very warm and open person. Instead she's bossy and even overbearing. She drives my father crazy sometimes, specially now that she's older and her mind's not the same as it used to be. But, she's still grandma. I'm make an effort to spend more time with her during the summer, maybe take her on more rides.

Today I watched two more episodes from Downton Abbey. S2 E2 and E3. I've found that this show is very good practice for understanding the British accents. I'll need it!

Also, I read two chapters from Blackout. You get so close to the characters in this book, probably because of the author's deep description. It gets a little annoying every now and then, but it really helps to know the characters and get into their heads.

On another note, I did yoga today with my mom. I'll make an effort to do it more often during the summer.
